Report

Our educational company POE EDUCO Ltd. is Czech private commercial company which effects on the whole area of Moravian-Silesian Region and in Náchodsko in the Hradec Králové Region. This company was established by three natural persons in October 1995. Adult education is still main and dominant activity of our company.

Target groups, which are addressed our educational projects for, are following:

  1. unemployed registered at job centres – 78%
  2. clerks in public administration and self-administration – 17%
  3. others – 5%

People are educated in these branches:

  1. computer literacy
  2. basis for business
  3. economics
  4. psycho-social abilities

There are 12 members of staff, 9 of them are tutors. We cooperate with many external assistants besides permanent staff. Our firm has obtained many certificates and accreditations. The quality of services is audited according to international standard Q FOR.

We have chosen one project, which is paid from the fund of EU and Czech state budget, for exchanging experience in a frame of MODEL project in this year. We cooperate with job centres, non-profit making organisations and commercial subjects of our region. This project is called JOIN-UP “Engagement of the clients and their way to the new successful working career. Project is for following target group:

  1. unemployed registered in job centres
  2. leavers from schools (people who wants to work but they cannot find any job because of lack of experience )
  3. people threatened with unemployment

Project JOIN-UP – the principal aim is improvement of possibilities to enter at labour market of latter mentioned group and decrease unemployment in our region.
The target groups obtain basis of computer literacy, learn elementary social manners, improve communicative skills, get up to create the professional curriculum vitae and renew or obtain working habits during 100 theoretical lessons and two month training (336 lessons) in the companies or in the firms and organisations. An individual tutorial and helping of diagnostics COMDI support a suitable professional choice.

Approximately 21% of project participants are employed in the company or organisation where they were training. This number is positive because these people are disadvantaged for their ages, poor education, disabilities or long-term unemployment. For most of them it is a big problem going to work regularly every day. Finding appropriate job is next big problem because of requirements and expectations of project participants. Our tutors supervise the training all the time and they advise if the training plan is determined and realised, unless learners are discriminated or chicaned. Each participant has possibility to get individual tuition which can help to shift away communicative problems and help with orientation at the labour market. Within the frame of the project participants are insured against accidents and injuries, fares are covered and they can use the career counselling. The course is monitoring and analysed thoroughly. The project is adapted for real needs according to results of analyses. 78% of participants pass through the project to the end. This number is quite high considering that there is no negative motivation (no sanction) if people decide to finish their project for lack of interest. The engaging in project is voluntary too and we can obtain participants only through the good presentation of the project and explanation of advantages of participating in this project. The primary choice is done by job centres staff. The quality of their choice determines the quality of occupanty rate as well. We have been monitoring all participants for the whole time of lasting of project (in this context 12 months) and survey if they are able to find permanent job and engage to working procedure. Participants can use free of charge consultancy about labour market and from the sphere of personal development.
The Local Job Centre receives reports about the project with evaluating of participants and references for further work with them. It is up to job centres staff whether they will work with results of the project. Participants evaluate this project positively even if they do not get the job. Their new knowledge, skills, contacts and changing of stereotypes increase their feelings of own quality.
